Download speed tests let you test your internet speeds and help show you what your real download speeds are. Many speed tests are available online but want to charge you to use them.
Speed test sites and software are popular these days. Lots of folks check out download speed tests regularly to see if they are truly getting the speeds they are paying for.
Sometimes you can get different results the second time you run an online speed test. Some of the lower quality tests use much less sophisticated methods for testing your speeds.
The varying speeds from the first time a test is run and the second can be due to internet congestion. If your test is not traced thru the same path it was originally then the 2nd test isn't timing the same lap so to speak.
So why should you actually test your Internet connection speed? Well as we all know ISP's offer many different packages of connectivity speed. Of course you still connect through the same connections as any other user. Your ISP actually limits your connection through a QOS(Quality of Service) file.
Utilizing an online speed test to test your download speed will allow you to monitor your speeds. But don't forget what I said earlier about how the values can differ.
